Twelve figures, all from manuscript illuminations. Six illustrations depict women writing and include St. Bridget of Sweden, Baudonivia, Amalthea, Io, and anonymous women. Three illustrations show women associated with books. Figures Six and Seven are portraits of nuns. Figure Nine represents Fortunatus in the act of writing and comes from the same manuscript as the portrait of Baudonivia mentioned above.
