Title:
History, Politics, and Christine Studies: A Polemical Reply [The author reacts in part to Christine Reno's article in the same essay collection ("Christine de Pizan: 'At Best a Contradictory Figure'?") which is critical of Delany's views on Christine de Pizan's political views. Delany argues that Christine espoused the views of her noble patrons and was not particularly innovative in her ideas about women. Modern scholars overlook these issues in their desire for a feminist foremother. Title note supplied by Feminae.].
