Description:
The Italian jurist, Bartolus of Sassoferrato, is often credited with this text. The devil argues in court against the Virgin Mary as humanity's advocate. He claims that he holds sway over humanity because of Eve's sin. It is thought the text was intended to teach students about legal procedures.
