Description:
The Arab physician Ibn al-Jazzar drew on the work of Greek, Roman and Arab medical authors to compile a medical guide in seven books. This book concerns the sexual diseases of both women and men. The emphasis is on therapy and includes detailed information on pharmacology. The editor, Gerrit Bos, provides an edition of the Arabic text, an English translation, an introduction and a commentary.
