Title:
The Veiled Poet: "Líadain and Cuirithir" and the Role of the Woman-Poet [The author briefly analyzes the figure of the female poet Liadain and compares her to two other literary representations of women poets: the daughter of Ua Dulsaine and the protagonist of "Aithbe Damsa." Larson suggests that all three stories about these professional women poets show them as hidden (sometimes using the image of "caille," a veil) and speaking from the outside. Moreover, they all have to pay a price to make their voices heard. Title note supplied by Feminae.].
