  • Abstract: Ce papier reprend d'abord brièvement toute la recherche antérieure sur "La Dame à la Licorne." Le nom du commanditaire étant connu, Jean Le Viste, on peut en déduire beaucoup d'informations sur la provenance de la tapisserie, sur son auteur et enfin sur le sujet réel qu'elle traite. La cour des Bourbon a influencé Jean Le Viste dans son choix de l'artiste et dans ses goûts artistiques et intellectuels. Nous pensons, en définitive, que l'étude iconographique révèle que "La Dame à la Licorne n'est pas composée seulement d'objets ou d'images mais illustre des thèmes relatifs à l'amour: cinq sens, images courtoises, chasse de l'amour et chasse de la licorne. La tapisserie apparaît comme un commentaire sur l'amour vrai.
