  • Abstract: Many theologians are voicing a new awareness of the importance of the mystical tradition. This tradition is valuable not only to historians, but should also be tested for its usefulness as a resource for contemporary systematic theology. This essay explores some methodological issues relevant to such a project, and then examines the trinitarian theology of Julian of Norwich with an eye to its relevance for recent discussions on the Christian concept of God.
