The goddess Diana holds a crescent moon (the planet that she rules—the moon was believed to be a planet in the fifteenth century) and stands on a chariot pulled by two horses. This sculpture is part of a cycle of zodiac symbols and planet personifications (the crab of Cancer is to the left).
