  • Description: In this excerpt from Njal's saga, Queen Guunhild holds power over her son, King Harald Greycloak, and arranges for him to favor Hrut, a new arrival from Iceland. The queen subsequently sleeps with Hrut. When he prepares to return to Iceland she curses his sexual performance with his future wife.
