Rebecca goes outside the city of Nahorto to draw water from a well. The water source is poured forth by a spring personified as a bare-breasted woman in classical dress. The second episode shows Rebecca drawing water for the servant Eliezer and his camels. He had been sent by Abraham to find a wife for his son Isaac. He chose Rebecca for Isaac because of her kindness.
