The Political Rhetoric of Christine de Pizan: "Lamentation sur les maux de la guerre civile [Christine addresses the Duke of Berry, calling on him to abandon his allegiance to the Duke of Orléans and seek peace for the good of the French people. Leppig argues that Christine combines elements from two literary forms, the "complainte" and the epistle, in order to excite pity and, at the same time, reproach those in the ruling elite she held responsible.
