Ten figures. Figure One Painting of man and woman embracing labeled "Luxuria" (Lust), circa 1350 (Kirkerup). Figure Two Painting of souls in torment, circa 1350-1400. A naked woman has basilisks sucking her breasts. The author identifies this as a punishment for childlessness. Also in the painting two naked men are being ridden by demons which the author identifies as the punishment for homosexuality (Birkeroed). Figure Three Isefjord Workshop, Painting of a woman being tormented for adultery and drunkeness, circa 1450. A devil thrusts a torch into her genitals and a bird pecks at her eyes (Marie Magdalene). Figure Four Isefjord Workshop, Painting of a damned nun and priest in a wheelbarrow, circa 1450 (Noerre Herler). Figure Five Isefjord Workshop, Painting of a woman tapping a cask while a devil catches something from the back of the woman, circa 1450 (Tuse). The author suggests that it may be menstrual blood that the devil is collecting. Figure Six Painting of a man whose soul is seized by the devil. In his sleep the man is lusting after a woman, circa 1500 (Saeby). Figure Seven Painting of the old husband dying while the young wife embraces her lover, circa 1500 (Vraa).
