  • Abstract: St. Catherine of Siena's works contain a profound theology of discernment difficult to thematize since she wrote in a literary style full of metaphorical language quite unique to her. The author attempts to analyze the saint's teaching on discernment which she saw as the capacity to recognize and carry out the truly good. This capacity unfolds as the person's potential for love is ordered so that charity and discernment are inextricably connected. [Reproduced by permission of Theological Studies.]
