. Edited by David R. Winter. Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies, 2021. Pages 92 - 93.
Description:
A knight suspected his chaplain of having an affair with his wife. A demoniac in the region could perceive people's sins and denounce them. The knight arranged for the three of them to travel there. Anxious about public shame, the chaplain confesses his sin in church to the only person present, a young boy. The demoniac cannot perceive any sin on the part of the chaplain. The knight's wife is not mentioned.
