Title:
The "Various Writings of Humanity": Johannes Tauler on Hildegard of Bingen's "Scivias" [The author analyzes Tauler's sermon delivered in Cologne to the Dominican nuns of St. Gertrude's in 1339. The sermon concerns in part an image in the nuns' refectory which was a copy of an illustration from Hildegard's "Scivias." Hamburger argues that Tauler adapts her visions to his particular needs, both as a mystic and a preacher. Title note supplied by Feminae.].
