Title:
Once More on the Patronage of Ambrogio Lorenzetti's Frescoes at S. Galgano Montesiepi [In suggesting a new patron for the frescoes (a lay-brother associated with the monastery), Dunlop explores the Virgin Mary's role in the paintings done by Lorenzetti. The theme of calling and acceptance is represented both in the Annunciation and in the one scene from Galgano's life. Mary is also presented as the Queen of Heaven to her Cistercian knightly followers. Title note supplied by Feminae.].
