Il matrimonium meticulosam in un "consilium" di Bartolomeo Cipolla (ca. 1420-1475) [Bartolomeo Cipolla had to weigh indirect evidence in the case between Alvise de Sonzino and Ursina Basso to determine whether the groom had been coerced into marriage. The jurist weighed the evidence presented and advised the judge to dismiss fear as a factor in the wedding. Ursina Basso contro Alvise Soncin: il "consilium" respinto di Bartolomeo Cipolla e gli atti del processo (Padova e Venezia 1461-1462) [Although Bartolomeo Cipolla advised the judge in Padua that Alvise de Sonzino had not been coerced into marrying Ursina Basso, the judge in Padua ruled against the claim of a valid marriage. The appellate judge in Venice unearthed evidence that Ursina's witnesses were suspect for reasons including low social status. He concurred in the original decision.
