Title:
Women's Bath
Creator:
Description:
This image is a counterpart fo Dürer's study of a male bath house. Here he captures the nude female body in a number of varied positions to showcase his talent for depicting the human form as in the classical tradition. Some women look out to the viewer enticingly. One fingers her hair and throws a sidways glance while the woman in the foreground smiles coyly as she bathes an older, obese woman. Other women appear oblivious to the viewer and continue with their routine, providing a sense of voyeuristic pleasure.
