Description:
Birth trays such as this were originally used for bringing food to pregnant women. Eventually, they became traditional childbirth gifts. Here, the personification of love stands on a chariot. In the center foreground Phyllis rides the humiliated Aristotle. To the right Delilah cuts the sleeping Samson's hair.
