Description:
Blanche of Navarre, regent-countess of Champagne, defended her son's inheritance when the succession was called into question by her brother-in-law, Erard of Brienne. The duke of Lorraine, Thibaut I, joined Erard's rebellion. Blanche outmaneuvered them diplomatically and then attacked Nancy, the capital of Lorraine. This document outlines her terms for Thibaut's surrender.
