  • Title: St. Anastasia
  • Creator:
  • Description: Little is known of the life of St. Anastasia except that she was martyred during the persecutions of Diocletian. She receives a special commemoration in the Roman liturgy in the second Mass on Christmas Day. Towards the end of the 5th century her name was also inserted in the Roman canon of the Mass, where it remains today. She holds a martyr's cross in her right hand and a medicine pot in the left, as she is venerated as an exorcist and healer in the Orthodox Church.
