Abstract:
This article provides an overview of recent scholarship on medieval women's history including sections on regional studies, work, power, religion, image, sexuality, marriage and family, and primary sources. The authors also discuss the historiography of medieval women's studies, patterns of publishing, including the importance of essay collections, the practices of collaborative and interdisciplinary work, and the resources available for the field in terms of bibliographies and book reviews. The article concludes with a nine-page bibliography listing every item discussed or cited.
